Monkey see, monkey want!
Back in 2005, scientists ran a simple experiment with 2 monkeys.
They gave each monkey an identical toy —
same color, same size, totally boring.
But both monkeys completely ignored it.
Then the scientists made one small change:
They took the toy away from Monkey A...
and handed it to Monkey B.
Instantly, Monkey A lost its mind.

The same toy it didn’t care about thirty seconds earlier...
suddenly became the most important thing in the world.
Why?
Just because Monkey B wanted it.
Scientists called this phenomenon Mimetic Desire.
And here's the uncomfortable truth:
We humans don’t choose our desires either — we copy them.
These "Mimetic Desires" quietly shape:
- the job you think you want
- the partner you think you want
- or even your "desire" to start a family
So before you set your New Years Resolutions for 2026, we challenge you to ask yourself:
Do I actually want this… or did I copy it?
