Name your brain.
What do you do when your own mind turns against you?
We recently interviewed Mo Gawdat, former Chief Business Officer at Google.

Mo had it all… a brilliant engineer, a proud father, and insanely wealthy.
Until one night, everything changed.
His 21-year-old son, Ali, went in for a routine appendix surgery…
But after six consecutive mistakes in the operating room, Ali lost his life.

In an instant, Mo’s world collapsed.
He told us how his brain tortured him in the aftermath...
“You should have stopped this.”“You could have done more.”“You failed him.”
His thoughts became unbearable.
But Mo is an engineer. And engineers solve problems. So he tried something unusual. He gave his brain a name: Becky.
Suddenly, those cruel thoughts weren’t him anymore.
They were Becky, a separate entity:“Thanks, Becky. But that’s not helping right now.”
This simple shift allowed him to claim his peace back.
So inspired by Mo, I named my brain too.
I call mine Bobby "Bacala" — and Bobby doesn’t have power over me.
So my challenge for you this week is this: Name your brain.
Separate yourself from it — and take back control.
