Purpose is the key to true happiness.
I just started a new job that entails:
- waking up at 2am
- cleaning piss & poop all day long
- being on call 24/7 for zero pay
And somehow... I’ve never been happier.
Let me explain.
Last week, my wife and I brought home a mini Goldendoodle puppy named Rocky.

It’s tested my patience, wrecked my routine, and flipped my life upside down.
But it’s also given me something I didn’t realize I was missing: purpose.
I haven’t had time to obsess over my to-do list, my goals, or myself.
Because now, I’m responsible for something bigger than me.
And weirdly enough… that responsibility has brought peace.
It reminded me of something Tony Robbins once said:
“Suffering comes from an excessive focus on yourself.
The secret to living is giving.”
Ever since Rocky showed up, I’ve been too busy giving to be stuck in my own head.
So if you’ve been feeling anxious, stuck, or restless — try this:
Show up for someone else.
Think of someone who might need you right now.
Send the text. Make the call. Lend a hand.
Seriously... do it right now!
Even the smallest act of kindness might just pull you out of your head —
and bring you back to center.
