Rest is productive.

Imagine living there was a gun to your head,

forcing you to finish every task right now.

That was me.

Except... I was the one holding the gun.

Last week I told Nick:

"I don't have time to rest. I NEED to work this weekend!"

He looked at me and asked:

"What's the worst case scenario if you don't?"

I stopped in my tracks.

"Honestly... nothing."

Why do we high-achievers do this to ourselves?

Because we are tricked into believing that stopping = lost momentum.

It’s like driving your car, the gas light comes on, and instead of pulling over you think, “I can make it a little further.”

We see the warning signs — tired, unfocused, snapping at people — but we convince ourselves we can push through.

Here’s the problem: when you drive on empty, the car doesn’t just slow down... It breaks down.

So the real question isn’t, “Do I have time to rest?”

It’s: “Can I afford a complete breakdown?”

This Labor Day, don’t just celebrate hard work — celebrate smart rest.
